Independent Candidate for President
Misteradiant:

September 11, 2006
This is propaganda. My propaganda is better than theirs.
Propaganda is defined in Webster's as "ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause." It is intended for mature audiences only. Do not apply directly to mouth. Hot dog fingers are a common side effect. Do not operate heavy machinery while reading. If overdose occurs, immediately consult a physician.
Misteradiant Propaganda. Perpetuating the facts as I see them since 1983.
I will never be President of the United States. I do not really seek to be. But that does not mean that I do not intend to spread my ideas of a better world in any way possible. Therefore, I formally acknowledge my desire to be the President of the United States.
The following is an ever-changing platform that I will add to for as many months as I am entertained by it. I may get bored tomorrow. As time goes by, it will change and it will grow.
World domination jokes apply here! Hurry! Only ten minutes left!
It will be funny and it will be dead relative serious. I will try to make it beautiful and glorious. We laugh at the Daily Show but forget that we have the power to vote and change our governors. They wear bureaucratic nightmare Kafka pants. When we vote for a change we will no longer have career politicians to laugh at because we'll stop thinking it's funny to laugh at ourselves. We elected them. We allow them their power. They fuck us and lie to us. That is not funny.
This is as serious as it gets because I want you to VOTE.
I want to be the President of the United States of America and I want this place to be a catalogue of reasons why your vote matters. Vote on November 7, 2006 and again in 2008.
In this age of electronic ballot software snafus, only human-counted exit polls that show a candidate winning by ten or twenty percent will keep an error in electronics from calling a loser the winner. I say this because I do not believe that George Bush has ever honestly won an election. Two percent swings (or errors) in electronic votes are more believable in a tight election. There are records of software that "would flip the vote, 51-49. Whoever you wanted it to go to and whichever race you wanted to win." Only an overwhelming majority of exit poll statistics will be what stops the paranoia, greed and lies.

Vote and tell everybody about it. Tell them who you voted for. Tell anyone who asks and tell them even if they don't. Stand by your opinion and you will find seven out of ten people will agree with you, while the rich, white snob in his Jaguar or Hummer will not bother to acknowledge you exist.
If you would rather, demand absentee ballots. Today, all absentee ballots must be counted by hand.
Take the agenda below for what it is worth to you. It will change and grow as I learn more about what the issues facing our nation mean to you. There is still much missing and much to add to the topics covered. But it is a start. Some may seem far out but I have nothing to lose and everything to gain. So do you. Please read on. I have a plan to prosper you and not to harm you. A plan of hope and a future.
My campaign's motto: WORLD DOMINATION WITH BIOFUEL
Biofuel, by the way, is a great name for a band.
It is my belief and the crux of my campaign that developing sustainable biomass for biofuel begins with legalizing the growth of hemp for hempseed biodiesel. This single act will start a chain of events that will first create enough renewable energy to provide the USA with all her needs for transportation fuel. Then, we will no longer need foreign oil from Islamic dictatorships and can pull our troops out of Iraq and Saudi Arabia. With our troops gone, organizations like Al-Qaeda, who have stated that our presence in the Middle East is the main reason they terrorize us, will have nothing to terrorize us for. The strength of our dollar will rise against the euro because America, the breadbasket of the world, has enough farming lands to grow the crops necessary for biofuel to become the world's largest exporter of a commodity that will one day make America more wealthy than all the Persian Gulf oil-producing states combined.

Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson were poets. They were men with grand visions for America who were sometimes just men, with frailties and imperfections. I am just a man, but I believe in a vision for America of peace and potency, imagination and invention. I do not believe in war as the way to profit an individual American's soul. I believe in one nation, indivisible by race or religion, occupation or personal vision. I believe in a nation that does not bomb itself and does not take advantage of it's workers. I believe in a nation whose collective dream is that of wisdom and understanding, not purposeful ignorance and fear.
In that America I believe in, I see an America of dreams. I see an America of innovation. I see in every street and on every face a smile like that shared between a brother and a sister. I see an intelligent people building memes and monuments for generations to inherit and proclaim good. I do not see fear. I see a vision of peace and success.
We were conceived as one nation, under God, not under God's Thumb. Let us care for each other, not use each other. Let us wake to a brand new day where manipulation is a memory. On that day, we will free the souls of those who worry about our sins and what to do to keep us safe from them. They believe our god-given free will, the ability to make up our own mind and to live with the consequences, is damned. They tell us to unite as they divide us with war and deceit and greed. They spend lifetimes taking away our freedom to decide, seeking to render our voice useless by manipulating our constitution into words that tell us more of what we cannot do, rather than help us with what we are free to do.
That is their America. It is not mine.
My vision of a new America is about what we can do, not about what we cannot. Thomas Payne, patriot and troublemaker, wrote in 1776 that society promotes our happiness, encouraging intercourse and government restrains our vices, creating distinctions. "The first is a patron, the last a punisher," he wrote in his treatise for American independence, "Common Sense." I dream of an America that is more like society and less like a government. It is a community of communities.
The current America of lies and greed cannot sustain itself with its sharp words and paranoia. It is seeding a New America, one that does not tax us for purposes we disagree with and one that is free to argue against the subjugation of civil rights in the name of war. In this new American nation, like the nation of our founders, we are free to believe in any God, or none at all. There, we are free to dream of prosperity and to work as hard as we wish for it. We are free to disagree without being "with the terrorists."
Eventually, fear makes everyone angry and in the America I see the angry masses demand their freedom. They rise up and take back what has been stolen from them. They are unafraid.
Do not be held down from achieving what seems impossible by those who stand upon you, reaching for their star while preaching the propaganda of anxiety. Fight for our new America, the one that lifts up its citizens with open-minded education and health care for all, not only for the wealthy who walk around proclaiming that they know better than the afflicted and the tired. Has their opinion helped you? Have they made it affordable to attend a university and stay healthy? It is time for another way.
I have seen a United States where we are free to believe in what we touch and in what touches us. This is a powerful vision for our nation, a vision of individuality that benefits the common good. It is a vision where we are finally, truly able to speak and write and dress and pray in any way we choose. I have seen this America and it is free to do whatever it wants because it is generous and seeks to harm no one. It strives for peace and affinity. This America saved me. Let me explain:
I was a witness to the soul of America after my little family and I lost our home in New Orleans by Katrina at the end of August of 2005. The America that saved us does not need a government to restrain it. The America I have witnessed came to the rescue of my family and gave us joy and conversation over food and wine. It gave us happiness and communion in a way everyone who has ever shared a story over dinner can understand. I have seen my dream in America and it deserves freedom, not punishment. It deserves equanimity, not emotional discomfort. It deserves peace in ways both physical and spiritual. This America is out there right now, struggling to survive. It needs us.
I may be just a poet, but this is the vision of America I see. It is wise and respected. It is hard-working and safe. It is forgiving and it is complete and it is filled with debate and invention and dreams that bring self-revelation and wisdom and understanding. I have seen America! It seeks to help and is that free land our ancestors fought and killed and died for. These men and women who were sometimes imperfect dreamt freely and passionately, they dreamt of the pursuit of happiness and of unalienable equality. That America is waving and golden.
I believe that my vision is the vision of many and I work for a blessing that we may all rejoice in the fruits of our labors now and for a thousand years.
Do not be controlled. Make an America of dreams a reality. Vote! Do not believe lies and do not fear. Read and research and talk about it. Then do it.
Freedom for all starts with freedom in you.
Thank you;
MR
