Independent Candidate for President
Misteradiant:
I will stop the stealing of American's civil rights, using the "war on terrorism" as an excuse. The fear-based, bureaucratic culture for power acquisition will end.
There will be no spying on American citizens though telephone calls and email transmissions. It is un-American and illegal to spy upon Americans. It is what dictators do to squelch the power of people yearning for freedom. Hitler did it. Stalin did it. Saddam did it. Kennedy did not. Lincoln did not. Bush does. He is the thief of your freedom. Anyone who says freedom means being spied upon is a liar.
A foreign policy that is less imperialistic will force Islamic terrorists to back off. They will know we are getting out of Iraq and the Middle East. America will eventually close all bases in the Middle East in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait. The vast network of over 700 military bases on every continent except Antarctica, a new form of empire that cannot be sustained with trade deficits and debt to nation lenders, has been built since President Eisenhower warned us against the "military-industrial complex" in 1961.
I will fight the special interests of Mid-East oil and the military-industrial complex. Our nation will be rebuilt as a self-sufficient America for the people, not for war. War is death. I believe in life and the pursuit of happiness. This pursuit is contrary to the killing of others for greed and power. This pursuit is about independence and security.
What have these people left to hate us with if we no longer occupy their lands with armed forces? America will no longer need to remain to protect the oil when we have found alternative fuels to supply our demands.
American terrorists will have less reason to kill people if we don't tax them to spy on them.
By 2015, the impossible "War on Terrorism" (in Iraq and against American citizens) will be a battle of religious differences that can be managed by stronger global trade policies. We will close 100 military bases throughout the world, not in America, so we are not spread out in an expensive and globally thin manner. Nationally, alternative automobile fuels and renewable energy will once again make our dollar the strongest currency in the world.
Money is power and creating an America of self-sufficient means will empower us against threats to our freedom. War is not power. Killing is not the way. Preparing for the day in 2030 when demand for oil is greater than supply, that is what will make the United States of America the leader of the world for a thousand years.
The cost of the Iraq War:
One month at war in Iraq would pay for the entire annual budget of the Office of Homeland Security.
