Independent Candidate for President
Misteradiant:

As President of the United States, I will seek to end free trade with countries that add tax to our exported products. Some say that taxing products from Mexico and overseas only means that the cost of living will rise because American products will not suddenly cost less. In my vision of America, people make more money and take care of their own. They do this by buying what America builds. Give to America and see what she gives you in return. It is a simple proposition some will say is protectionist. Call it what you want, but the America I envision will see that it is a karmic reality, a way of the tao, of loving your neighbors. It is what Jesus would do.

To develop a trade policy that benefits American industry, we must first have profitable industry. For the past three decades, our nation has seen it's manufacturing industry dwindle as those in China have grown exponentially. In the America I see, she has a developing biofuel industry, striving to make America the #1 exporter of worldwide biofuel consumption. This industry will create a strong seat for which America can wield fair trade policies with nations the of the world. This will effect American automobile manufacturers, who can beat foreign companies to the biodiesel power format. As worldwide petroleum supply dwindles, this industry will become the largest in the world and America will host it with innovative technology from farming to shipping.

The World Trade Organization (WTO) does not call the shots in regard to American trade policy. They are an organization made up of the largest corporations in the world and they are looking out for themselves. If they cannot fulfill their stated mission of fewer trade barriers, we will do what we must to protect our nation and its workers.

I say to America that we are largest corporation in the world and we will do what we must to protect our workers and our products from the unfair trade policies of other nations. If China wants to tax our automobiles 25%, as they currently do, then when theirs come to us next year (the Chery), we will tax them 25% as well. Currently, there is no tax expected on the coming Chinese cars. I call upon every American citizen to boycott Chinese automobiles until the import-export tariffs are zero or at least equal.

If China does not provide better access for American investment and trade, improved protection of intellectual property rights and the dismantling of export incentives and other forms of trade-distorting subsidy, it will provoke a negative protectionist response in America. We will impose tariffs, taxes and duties right back at any country who taxes our products in their land.

I will not tolerate any trade policy with any nation that does not, at least, benefit both nations equally. America deserves working fair trade, not broken "free" trade.
